Enjoying a (Half) Snow Day

Due to the inclement weather yesterday our office closed early and I enjoyed a wonderful half day with Keri (her office was also closed).   We trekked the block to the gym which was thankfully open and had a bit of fun.  Sometimes it is a good idea to mix it up, although I had a bit of withdrawal getting off my routine but it was a good session nonetheless.

15 min walk (3.5 mph@5 degrees), 3 seven point burpees done each minute (please be careful getting on/off the treadmill)

10 min walk (3.5 mph@5 degrees)

Bench Press 6/5/4/3/2 (Hit a 2 rep PR which was cool)

Circuit 4x (minimal rest):

  • STRICT Pull-ups (Assisted if needed)10x
  • Calf Raises 30x (standing on 45lb plate)
  • Crunch 10x
  • Reverse Crunch 10x
  • Seated Lat Raise 12/10/8/6

Odd little workout innit?

Spent the rest of the day enjoying home-made pumpkin dark chocolate chip cookies, doing a bit of laundry, enjoying a bun-less lamb burger**, and watching this.

Fantastic documentary, reveals many interesting facts about the importance that tea (yes, TEA) has played in world history.  Part two also features an appearence by Matt Smith (Doctor Who)!!  Yeah, pretty cool stuff.  Tea is cool.

**Bun Less Lamb Burger – my dinner was an amazing minced lamb patty (8 0z) topped with raw onion, avocado, two eggs over easy, salt/pepper, and a healthy spattering of hot sauce.  AMAZING and SIMPLE
