Tips from Dorian Yates and officially 19 weeks out

Dorian Yates won a consecutive SIX Mr. Olympia’s during his reign in the early/mid 90’s.  He also brought on what can be considered the ‘Mass Monster’ aesthetic to bodybuilding where BIGGER was better and proportion and symmetry was less important.  The guy was and is a beast, not my favorite physique but a legend in the sport.  Below is an excellent video of Dorian presenting some great tips,  nothing ground breaking but STUFF THAT WORKS.  Pay heed –

Yesterday was officially 19 weeks out from my first Men’s Physique show on March 23, 2014.  Weight is just at 230lbs, with the goal of stepping on stage at around 205lb.  Just getting into this sport and there is MUCH that I need to learn concerning the nitty gritty of contest prep.  I have a few buddies that are providing good advice but I am really just in it to improve myself and have fun.  It has been some time since I was the fat lineman in high school and I have experienced a wide spectrum of physical endeavors (college soccer to club rugby, marathons to kettlebell sport), this is the next stage of my journey.  What’s yours?
