Missouri State Penitentiary. “47 Bloodiest Acres in America”

On our trip to visit family in Missouri over Labor Day we had the chance to do the ‘ghost tour’ of the Missouri State Prison (decommissioned in 2004).  I wanted a way to work these creepy pictures into my blog so I designated this workout the “…it could be worse”  circuit.

Y’know, because you could be serving time in the most haunted prison in America.  Anyway, lets get after it!!

Warm-up

…It Could Be Worse” – Circuit Blocks: Perform each block 3x, rest 1′ between each circuit

  • Around the world 30″/direction
  • Power Snatch Lunge 30″/arm
  • Russian Twist 30″
  • Half Get-up (5 Pt) 30″/arm
  • Thruster 30″/arm
  • American Swing 30″
  • Low Windmill 30″/arm
  • UBC 30″
  • Butterfly Push-up 30″
  • Squat Jumps 30″

Finish with a hallway circuit of bear crawl and loaded carry, stretch, and call it good!

The walk to the death chamber, bear crawls don’t sound so bad now eh?

Don’t know if it was the humidity, lighting, or ghoulish possession but every pic of me at the prison was a creeper. This was in Sonny Liston’s cell. Yeah, THAT Sonny Liston!

If you are interested, the link below is the Ghost Adventures episode of the Missouri State Penitentiary that recently aired.  It was a very cool tour, if you have the chance, I say check it out.  Go as late as possible, we started the tour at 9PM just as the sun was setting.  DUN DUN DUN….
