Big weekend for our office ( Denver Chiropractic Center – DenverBack.com), Dr. Glenn Hyman set a 23 minute PR at Exterra Beaver Creek Triathlon, Dr. Glenn has been using Crossfit Endurance for the past few months (and also got certified in Crossfit Endurance & Crossfit Level 1) and it obviously shows, well done doc!
Another big piece of news is that one of the office’s sponsored ultrarunners, Patrick Stewart finished the Hardrock 100 Mile race in 29 hours and 4 minutes for a 10th place finish! Hardrock is one the most difficult ultramarathons in the world. Looking at the Top 10 for this year is a Who’s Who of Ultrarunning, with names like Hal Koerner, Dakota Jones, and Karl Meltzer. Runners must climb Mt. Handies ( a 14,000 ft. mountain pass!!!) during the route, just try to wrap your minds around that for a minute. Patrick has had some nagging injuries we have been working with and to finish, and finish that well demonstrates how tough and strong of a runner he is. Patrick has ARRIVED in Ultrarunning and solidified his place as a top contender in the sport. Simply incredible!
In less than stellar news, I attempted the Triple Bypass Ride this past Sunday and dropped after Vail Pass. Disappointing? Yes. Frustrating? You betcha! A learning experience? No doubt. There really aren’t any excuses other than the fact that I wasn’t prepared and bit off a bit more than I could chew. Still, it was a GREAT weekend in the mountains and I plan to redeem myself with the Boulder Buffalo Classic Century in September. So on that note, here were the two workouts from last week I haven’t put up yet.

- 24kg KB Swing Flip Squat 7×7
- 25 yard sprint and walk back
- 32kg Double KB Long Cycle 15×3
- 32kg Double KB Front Squat 15×1
