Feels great being back in the office and I am ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE that I have the greatest patients in the world. Being an ART chiropractor in Denver allows you to work with some of the most interesting of people . It is the middle of race season and I love hearing about all of the various events and activites my patients are training for, I am even tagging along with a patient and her friends at this Sunday’s Triple Bypass Ride (they are all middle age athletes and I will be LUCKY to keep pace with them, here’s to hoping they don’t drop the hammer and leave me in the dust). I don’t mean to go on too much of a tangent, just want to give a BIG THANKS to all of my patients who have choosen me as their doctor. Thank-you!
Anyway, here is today’s training session. It is performed as a complex, but since it is such a dense workout allow yourself time to rest and even break up the exercises if you have to. As always, QUALITY REPS!
Joint Mobility/Get the blood circulating 10 min
The below complex consists of four exercises performed one after the other without setting the bell down and moving right into the box jump as a descending 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 rep scheme, i.e the first set each exercise is performed for 10 reps, the next is 9 reps, and so on until the last set is one rep for each exercise. The video below was taken during my five rep set.
- 24kg KB Long Cycle (Clean & Jerk)
- 24kg KB Goblet Squat
- 24kg KB Hardstyle Swing
- 24″ Box Jump
- REST 1 MIN AFTER EACH COMPLEX SET (Since Keri and I train together, we follow a ‘I go, you go’ flow. This lets us rest while the other lifts, and also lets us coach each other on proper form (**be sure you’re training partner is ok with the nit-picking as this can come off as very annoying and make you look like a know-it-all tool**)
- Static stretch/foam roller 10 min
